Solution: Media 8 worked closely with the founders of Pick the Band to create the home for the first fan-run record label. Pick the band.com allows for amateur rock bands in different American cities to submit their video clips and participate in national band competitions. The audience votes online to select the winners, which then receive recording and promotion agreements from Pick the Band. The site is rapidly becoming a strong community for amateur music artists and an alternative outlet to the mainstream record industry.
